Create Avery Labels
Start with a .xls file. If you have something other than a .xls file, convert it. If you don't have the original file, there are several on-line conversion sites.
Go to avery.com, mouse-over Templates & Software and click on Design & Print Online.
Enter the code of the labels you've purchased and click Go.
On the next page, click the correct product you've purchased.
On the next page, click the Select & Customize button for the blank labels.
On the next page, click the New Text Box button and delete the contents of the newly generated box.
Click the Start Mail Merge button.
On the next page, browse your computer for your .xls file.
If you have headers or titles for your columns, uncheck the checkbox for the top row so they don't get assigned to labels.
On the next page, drag & drop the fields you want on your labels. e.g. Name, Address, City, ZIP.
Click Complete Merge.
Click Preview & Print.
Insert a label sheet into your printer and click the Print button.
Research your logo or name
Want to research if the logo or name you're thinking of is already in use, or something close to it? Start by visiting the United States Patent and Trademark Office's website http://www.uspto.gov/trademarks/index.jsp
Click the Trademark Search link on the top, left. You can search images or names. Grab a sandwich and a glass of wine, 'cause you'll be there a while 🙂
