This past Saturday (June 27th, 2015), Overland Mountain Bike Club held their annual ‘40 in the Fort‘ mountain bike race. It’s a grueling 20 mile route in Lory State Park and Horsetooth Mountain Park that you ride twice. This year they offered a 1-lap option. Saturday morning at 6am, I hiked up the mountain in Horsetooth Mountain Park about 2.5 miles with my camera gear so I could take pictures of the racers as they rode by and offer them on my photography website CameronWayPhoto.com. I hiked to one spot I thought would be good for photos. I stayed there a few hours then I headed back down to another spot I thought would be interesting. After a few shots there, I headed down a different trail, and so on. I stopped at 4 locations all together to take pictures. I ride in Horsetooth Mountain Park somewhat frequently, so I had a good idea of where some sweet spots are for good photos. Because I ride mountain bikes and I enjoy photography, I think I got lots of great photos of the racers. Below are a few examples.
